Jaime Alberto Peña is a 40-year trial attorney who practices in state and federal courts in Texas, New Mexico, and Colorado. He has tried well over 100 jury trials including over 50 federal jury trials to verdict. As a trial attorney and prosecutor for the United States Department of Justice for over 28 years Mr. Pena maintained the positions of Senior Litigation Counsel and Criminal Healthcare Fraud Coordinator and prosecuted complex white collar federal cases in the Southern District of Texas, the Eastern District of Texas, and the District of Colorado. His civil and criminal trial experience include directing teams of investigators, taking depositions, drafting complex pleadings and discovery, negotiating settlements (including global settlements where collateral cases exist), advocating before judges and juries, and handling appeals. He is board certified in criminal law (inactive) by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization.
